About Us

The FAR Skateboard Shop CIC is a 100% skater owned and operated website and retail space, combining years of experience with fast, friendly and efficient service. Any profit made through sales goes back into the local skate community via our parent charity, The FAR Academy Trust.

The FAR Academy Trust is a multi-award winning CIC that provides innovative education to young people from disaffected backgrounds or have had a negative experience of school. As a registered charity, we rely on funding and donations to maintain our ability to change lives through education and skateboarding.

Our staff have great knowledge and are happy to help you get the right board and custom setup. The business is designed to serve the whole country with the newest, coolest and most varied selection of skate equipment available. We also have our own mini ramp to try out your new board on!

We are also very active in the community, running regular skateboarding competitions and we deal closely with a lot of groups, with past clients including youth workers, teachers and local councils. If you feel you could use our help on a community project feel free to contact us. We at The FAR Skateboard Company are lucky enough to have built up great relationships with our suppliers. Since its inception, The FAR Skateboard Company has sought to foster lasting improvements in society, with an emphasis on supporting and empowering youth. Through special events, grants, and technical assistance, our company supports recreational programs focusing on the creation and regeneration of public skateboard parks in low-income communities, and other causes in the UK. We favour projects that have strong community involvement, grassroots fundraising, and a base of support from the skaters, parents, law enforcement, and local leaders. In recent years, hundreds of local councils have come to embrace the recreational and societal benefits of skateboard parks. With the popularity of skateboarding fuelling the rush to build them, this has become more urgent and critical. Since 2011 we have been fulfilling our mission to help young people by raising funding and grants to low-income communities regenerating quality public skate parks and providing guidance to local councils, parents, and children through the process.
